The Northwest Territories Community Services Corporation is celebrating the 50th anniversary of both their organization and Northern United Place.
Established in 1976, the NWTCSC is Yellowknife’s largest non-profit housing provider, operating 70 bachelor and 14 one-bedroom units for tenants with an income under $60,000 annually.
Northern United Place also has commercial space, which has served as the home for Aurora College’s North Slave Campus since 1999. The building also houses the Yellowknife United Church.
The corporation’s direction and oversight comes from a volunteer Board of Directors, who are chosen at the group’s Annual General Meeting, the next of which will occur in April of 2027.
The NWTCSC is excited to continue their work providing safe and affordable housing and community spaces while supporting Yellowknife residents and organizations.
More information about the NWTCSC and Northern United Place can be found on their website.
