Three suspects in custody follow apartment search

Yellowknife RCMP have taken three suspects into custody after executing a search warrant as part of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation.

Police began their investigation on September 9, following the execution of an arrest warrant for an unrelated matter.

Police were able to obtain and execute a search warrant on an apartment, which uncovered $11,150 in cash, several cellphones, and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking, as well as the arrest of three suspects.

All three have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, and obstructing a peace officer.

All three suspects are being held in police custody, pending court.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
