Evacuation ordered for Wrigley

At 10:50 am an evacuation order was issued for the community of Wrigley due to wildfire encroaching on the community.

All residents have been ordered to evacuate immediately. Evacuees have been instructed to register at the band office and will receive further instructions from there.

The Town of Fort Smith will be hosting the evacuees beginning today. Fort Smith residents are encouraged to contact the Community & Recreation Centre to help support the Wrigley evacuation.

“This can be a stressful time for many, and can put extra pressure on our food & fuel resources. We ask that the Fort Smith community comes together in supporting Wrigley residents during this period of uncertainty,” said the Town of Fort Smith in a Facebook post.
