Behchokǫ̀ RCMP seize suspected drugs in traffic stop

Behchokǫ̀ RCMP say they seized suspected cocaine, cash, and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on May 24.

Shortly before midnight, officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 3, on a vehicle which was registered in Alberta.

During the stop, police say officers had reason to believe the driver was engaging in drug trafficking activity, and they were subsequently arrested.

A search of the vehicle reportedly found three kilograms of suspected cocaine, $1,500 in Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia.

The driver has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and has been remanded into custody.
