Northwest Territories RCMP updates uniforms

RCMP in the Northwest Territories is working to modernize officer uniforms with a new navy-blue uniform shirt.

Beginning in April, frontline officers in the NWT will be wearing these new uniforms.

Similar new shirts have already been rolled out to other RCMP detachments across Canada.

During the transition some officers may still be wearing the old grey uniform shirt. The RCMP apologizes for the possible confusion and reminds the public that if they have concerns about the identity of an officer, they can ask for identification.
