An 18-year old is facing drug related charges after what police reported was a routine traffic stop yesterday in Fort Smith.
Officers reported that the suspect had attempted to “flee” the traffic stop on foot.

Police reported that the suspect exhibited signs of “impairment by alcohol” and was transported back to the detachment where he provided breath samples.
According to the report, a search of the vehicle led to findings including suspected cocaine.
“Approximately 24 grams of suspected cocaine, a quantity of cash, drug paraphernalia and bear spray was located during a search of the suspect.”
