Fort Smith police searching for suspect in connection to weapons incidents

Fort Smith RCMP are searching for a suspect in connection to several reports of incidents involving weapons.

On September 19, at 11:00 pm, police received a report that a person had pointed a firearm at another person at the Aurora College running track. The victim was able to leave the area and contact the police.

Upon arriving, police were able to locate a second victim who had a firearm pointed at them. Shortly after a third victim reported that they had been chased by someone and had a firearm pointed at them.

All three victims provided a description of what is believed to be the same suspect.

The suspect is described as 25-30 years old and approximately 5’8″, with white or light brown skin, a slim build, shoulder length dark brown or black hair, and wearing a red and grey windbreaker jacket and black track pants with a single white stripe down each leg.

Police are asking anyone with information on the suspect or their whereabouts to contact Fort Smith RCMP. A community portal has also been created where video or image evidence can be submitted.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
