The Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce announced they are holding the 2025 State of the City Address on Sept. 12 at the Explorer Hotel in the city of Yellowknife.

“As we look to the future, let’s work together with creativity to build a Yellowknife that works for everyone, while also honoring the stories and history that made us who we are,” said Mayor Ben Hendriksen.

Mayor Hendriksen said the meeting makes space for a living dialogue between the past and present, as forces that can inform the changing urban space.

The discussion will centre around issues like housing and community development, infrastructure investment and capital projects, downtown revitalization and local business growth, economic diversification and partnerships with Indigenous governments and regional stakeholders.

Mayor Hendriksen is scheduled to attend and plans to discuss the city’s economic direction, development plans, and ongoing projects.
