Green bins coming to Downtown Yellowknife homes

Composters, get your bins ready!

Single family homes in the downtown area will be receiving green composting carts.

The area is the final in the city to be covered by the curbside collection program.

“With the arrival of downtown green carts, we are taking the next step in dealing with our garbage responsibly,” said Mayor Mark Heyck.

Kitchen catchers with information packages will be delivered to residents’ doorsteps this week between Wednesday and Friday.

The carts will be delivered to homes next week, on October 25th – 26th, with the first pick-up date set for November 7th.
