NWT ice crossings preparing for closures this week

The Liard River ice crossing to Fort Simpson and the Mackenzie River crossing to Wrigley are both expected to close this week.

On April 13th, the GNWT’s Department of Infrastructure had announced that both crossing’s were expected to close by April 20th.

INF says they will try to update motorists 24 hours before the closure to help prepare for the event, but added there is the possibility of a sudden closure.
