Extended lab services hours announced for Stanton Territorial Hospital

The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority has announced that they are implementing extended outpatient laboratory collection hours and an online booking system in Yellowknife.

Outpatient collection hours at Stanton Territorial Hospital will be extended by four and a half hours, now lasting from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday, allowing for an additional 38 outpatient appointments daily.

Laboratory services are also available through the Yellowknife Primary Care Centre in YK Centre East from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm on weekdays by walk-in same-day service only.

The new online booking system, available here, will allow residents to book lab appointments at Stanton Territorial Hospital more easily.

The system includes automatic confirmation of appointments when requests are submitted, as well as appointment reminders.

The goal of these changes and the new system is to provide more flexible and convenient access to lab services for patients in Yellowknife, with appointments available outside of normal work and school hours, and easier appointment booking.
