Yellowknife Colour Run donates $3500 to Homebase YK

The 2026 Yellowknife Colour Run organizers have announced that the net proceeds from this year’s event, totalling $3,500, will be donated to Homebase YK.

The organizers extend their thanks to everyone who made the Colour Run possible, including their sponsors, volunteers, and all the participants in this year’s event.

“Every person who registered, every volunteer who gave their time, and every sponsor who helped with an expense played a part in making this contribution possible,” said the organizers.

This donation is part of the Colour Run’s goals of promoting community connection and physical activity, letting participants enjoy the event while working to support important organizations in Yellowknife.

The organizers say they intend to work to expand the event’s sponsorship base for future years, allowing the Colour Run to remain affordable and accessible to the whole community, and allow more of the proceeds to be donated.

“The more support we receive from sponsors — both cash and in kind — the more sustainable the event becomes, and the greater the opportunity to direct proceeds back into the Yellowknife community,” said the event organizers.
