Telecommunications outage planned for Łutsel K’e

The Government of the Northwest Territories is alerting residents of Łutsel K’e of a planned telecommunications outage.

The outage will occur on September 3, 2026, between 12:00 am and 6:00 am while Northwestel performs scheduled network maintenance.

During this work, residents may experience interruptions to voice, DSL internet and Bell Mobility services, lasting roughly 10 minutes while legacy technology is replaced with newer models.

In an emergency situation residents should attempt to call 911 first, but if telecommunications services are unavailable then residents are advised to proceed to their local RCMP detachment in person, go directly to their local health centre for emergency medical needs, or contact emergency response personnel through community channels if available.

For non-urgent health needs, residents will be able to call 811 before or after the planned service disruption to speak to a registered nurse.

The GNWT thanks residents for their patience and understanding while this maintenance is completed.

More information and updates about service disruptions is available at the GNWT’s public safety page.
