CIBC renews commitment to Run for Our Lives fundraiser

The Run for Our Lives Committee has accepted a renewed four-year $100,000 commitment from CIBC in support of cancer-related equipment fundraising through the annual CIBC Mud run.

“For more than two decades, we have proudly supported the Run for Our Lives, and we remain committed to strengthening access to early detection and cancer care services across the Northwest Territories,” said Brent Agerbak, Vice President & Region Head for Alberta & NWT at CIBC.

Since its inception in 2004, Run for Our Lives has raised over $2 million to advance caner care at the Stanton Territorial Hospital.

2026 marks the third year of Run for Our Lives’ three-year, $600,000 campaign to support the purchase of cancer-related equipment, including ultrasound machines and examination chairs.

“We are incredibly grateful for CIBC’s continued leadership and Commitment,” said Tanya Kearney, Chair of the Run for Our Lives Committee.

“As we work to complete our current campaign and purchase these important pieces of equipment, this four-year commitment will have a meaningful and lasting impact on cancer care in the North.”

The CIBC Mud Run will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2026, at the Yellowknife Ski Club.
