Northwestel internet restored in Yellowknife after lengthy outage

Northwestel says internet service has been fully restored in Yellowknife following a city-wide disruption Wednesday morning.

Some customers reported experiencing a disruption as early as 4 a.m. Service wasn’t completely restored until hours later – before 10:30 a.m.

Earlier in the morning, the company said technicians were investigating the cause of the disruption and that crews were working as quickly as possible to restore service.

It remains to be seen what exactly caused the disruption in the first place.
