Hay River police charge one suspect following search warrant

Hay River RCMP executed a search warrant with the assistance of multiple specialized units earlier this week, resulting in one suspect being charged.

On the morning of October 15 police, with the aid of Emergency Response Teams from G and K Division RCMP, K Division RCMP Police Dog Services, a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Pilot, and the G Division RCMP Tactical Armoured Vehicle, executed the warrant on a residence along Fir Crescent.

Police say they seized a small amount of suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia and took two suspects into custody.

One of the suspects was later released, and the other was charged. They have been released until their next court appearance.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
