The Northwest Territories Hydro Corporation and the Northwest Territories Power Corporation Board of Directors have announced that President and CEO Cory Strang will be retiring.
He has worked at NTPC for 28 years, holding a number of financial positions including budgeting, regulatory affairs, risk management, and CFO, before being appointed to his current roles in November of 2021.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Cory and witness his success in many roles with the Corporation over the years,” said Board of Directors Chair Judith Goucher.
The Board says they have initiated the process of recruiting a new CEO as well as a transition plan. They have also been in the recruitment process for a new CFO due to the retirement of the previous CFO Paul Grant.
“As we look to modernize our electricity system, strengthen energy security and make important investments in our infrastructure, Cory leaves the Corporation well positioned for the work ahead,” said Minister Caroline Wawzonek.
Strang will continue to serve as President and CEO of NTPC until December 31, 2026.
