Ecology North holding Stories of the Land event this Sunday

Ecology North is inviting everyone to their Stories of the Land event this World Snow Day, Sunday the 18th from 1-3 pm. Join Chief Fred Sangris at Frame Lake for stories and reflections, followed by a short walk around the nearby trail, and warming up around the fire with hot drinks and bannock.

This event is free and open to all ages. It’s asked that all participants dress for the weather and be prepared to be outdoors. The event will begin in front of the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre before continuing through the afternoon’s activities. Take the opportunity to get outside, connect, and spend time on the land together.

Ecology North is a non-profit organization based in Yellowknife. It was founded in 1971 in response to arsenic pollution in the area. Since then, its mandate has expanded to tackle other issues, such as climate change and food sovereignty.
