Vista Radio is bringing a fresh new sound to the Territory with the launch of GO FM 100.1 – The North’s Feel Good Pop Station.
GO FM 100.1 delivers a vibrant mix of the biggest pop hits from the 90s, 2000s, and today, paired with local voices and an upbeat style designed to make every day lighter and more fun.
Mornings in the North start with Brock Cullen, who brings energy, music, and local conversation to help listeners kick off their day. Joel Lamoureux takes over the afternoon airwaves with a fun, feel-good show, keeping the music flowing and the mood high.
GO FM launched at 8 a.m. this morning, led in by Prince’s “Let’s Get Crazy” monumental closing guitar solo. Outside, the first frost of the season was melting on the cars and streets of Yellowknife as Nelly’s “Hot in Herre” hit the airwaves.
“It sounded new, it sounded fresh. And I think lots of people, lots of our listeners are gonna love it,” said Cullen.
“This is definitely the music that I grew up listening to. It’s a lot of fun. I had the music so loud in the studio. So to our neighbours that that might have had to hear that early on this morning, I apologize to them. The music is awesome,” added Cullen.
The transformation is focused on bringing positive vibes to the territory.
“GO FM is about creating a place for Yellowknife and the entire NWT to feel good, smile, and enjoy the soundtrack of their lives,” says Robin Ram, General Manager.
“We’re proud to continue serving this community with local voices, local service, and a radio station that fits the lifestyle and spirit of the North”.
Alongside the launch of GO FM 100.1, Vista Radio continues to connect the regions with MyNorthNow.com, a digital news portal delivering the latest in local news, weather, and community updates every day.
As part of the Vista Radio family, GO FM 100.1 is backed by the strength of one of Canada’s largest independent broadcasters, while remaining deeply connected to the people and stories that make Yellowknife unique.
